Why Pakistan?
Pakistan with its strategic geographical location has gained worldwide
recognition as a trade corridor linking vital regions of South, Central and
West Asia. In order to gain maximum advantage of its ideal location, the
country has been developing its transportation networks and around 100
million tons of cargo is currently being handled.
The Government of Pakistan and the World Bank are pursuing developments in
this sector to bring efficiency in the transportation sector to facilitate
domestic trade and transport in the global supply chain. National Trade
Corridor Program has been initiated in an effort to link Pakistan with its
neighbouring countries to enhance transit trade competitiveness and the
country's industrialisation. Major initiatives are also being taken to
propagate the use of multimodal transport for connecting markets and people.
Conference Overview:
1st Annual Multimodal Transportation & Logistics Conference will bring
together an ideal blend of industry stakeholders from manufacturing,
distribution, logistics and Government authorities to stimulate dialogue for
improving the transportation infrastructure in line with the industrial
requirements.
The conference is designed to highlight the immense potential of the
transportation modes and related services to cater to the domestic and
international markets. With its diverse agenda, it will highlight current
operational and strategic issues, propose solutions, discuss best practices
and identify various opportunities in this sector.
